Club Med unveiled details of its new promotion, the Spring into Summer Sale, offering families the chance to book an all-inclusive, family-friendly getaway starting at $119 per adult per night (children receive free or discounted stays). What a delightful coincidence that one of the most influential figures in shaping how and where large numbers of ordinary people travelled in the 20th century was an American gentleman by the name of Juan Trippe. Before World War II he set up Pan American Airways and, after the war was over, the InterContinental hotel group. Is there anything better than cheese? After all, cheese pretty much goes with everything. It’s amazing on bread, with fruit and with vegetables, with pasta, with chocolate, with wine or beer, or even just on its own.
And the best thing about cheese, besides that it simply exists, is that there are so many varieties, made all over the world. You can get a mild Brie in France, a flavorful goat cheese in Tuscany, or a pungent (dare we say, stinky) blue cheese in Asturias that’ll knock your socks off (or at least smell like them).
